Describe your website.
This site is intentionally simple, tranquil, and attractive. The home page explains that this site separates the Mindfulness information and articles from the hypnotherapy articles on my primary site. There is a section called Articles on Mindfulness; this give short articles on various aspects of mindfulness to show how it is applied, how people use it, and how extensively practical it is for everyone to use. There is naturally a contact page for people to ask questions, offer feedback or make appointments.
The useful links page is just what it says; there is plenty of information on this subject but I offer links to the really useful and practical ones. I run mindfulness courses, so I have links to resources for students on this page.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Many people have heard of Mindfulness but may not know much about it, beyond the headlines on TV or radio programmes, so this site is written in a style that everyone will find acceptable. If people have an interest in this subject, I am assuming they have a reasonable level of understanding. I am aware that it is easy to fall into the trap of using jargon and acronyms, so I have kept the style of writing warm, friendly and conversational.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
My site is simple, direct, and easy to navigate. There is nothing that eats up bandwidth or takes ages to download. You can read it on a PC, tablet, or phone. It is clean and clear therefore easy to read without distractions. The soft background is easy on the eye and creates a calmness in which to enjoy the content and is not sterile or clinical.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
Branching out epitomises Mindfulness; the colours are soft but with impact, the tree motif symbolises growth. Green backgrounds create a feeling of calmness. The design has has plenty of open space in which to write; some other designs might distract or impinge on the text area.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
My main site uses placeholders for videos , smart text, and graphics and is quite different from this site. That was the intention from the start-- easy, quick access to relevant, understandable material on a pleasant background.
