Describe your website.
I'm a visual artist and designer, and want an online presence so viewers can find and explore my work. I work in various media: charcoal drawings, assemblage, mixed media, digital prints, some video, and graphic design. I also enjoy collaborations with other artists - with Bill Friesen, and with Bill Friesen, Joe Rosenblatt and myself as the Eastside Group.
Who is the target audience for your website?
Artists enjoy exploring sites of other artists, and they in turn forward interesting sites to others, so a website enables an artist to be part of a wider community. Galleries and curators rely on websites to learn about an artist's work. And I have many friends and acquaintances who follow my work.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
Not a business or commercial site, I do not sell my work online.
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
Plain black background.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I eliminated anything extraneous on the pages so I could highlight my work. I used primarily photo pages, and a couple just for text.
