Describe your website.
On the site, visitors will find my biography, a partial list of my compositions, and some recordings, scores, and articles created by me. These things represent my activities as a composer.
Who is the target audience for your website?
My website will be of interest to performers seeking compositions, particularly vibraphonists. Composers and music students wanting to know more about me or about Australian music in general should also find the site helpful.
What is the advantage of your website over others?
My website is specifically to represent me on the web. It provides a source of information about me. There is no other site that does this to the same extent.
Tell us a story about this website.
Given that my website is quite new (only a few days old at this point) I am still looking forward to its impact!
Why did you use this Sandvox design?
As a classical composer, I wanted a website design that was simple, sophisticated. and elegant. It also needed to look professional and contemporary. The white or light grey text against a black or charcoal background appealed to me for these reasons, and also lends the site a seriousness, which is appropriate for its content.
What techniques did you use to build this website?
I placed small graphics of the first few bars of some of my scores as objects, which link to the full pdf file of the score when clicked. Rather than just using the word "download" as a clickable link, the user can see a piece of the score he or she is about to be taken to.
