What kind of websites were you planning to build?
I originally designed and built this website from scratch in order to showcase the seven titles in my "King of the Trees" fantasy series, as well as my new "Creation Seekers" series.
How did you hear about Sandvox?
I conducted a Google search.
What made you decide to get Sandvox?
Formerly, I had a webmaster who designed and maintained my website on his PC. Unfortunately, it was an expensive proposition, and I was constantly having to ask him to fix his mistakes, misspellings, etc. I had no control over the website's appearance, though he did a fairly good job. Eventually, he quit the web-design business, leaving me hanging with no way to modify my site. That's when I found Sandvox. It was difficult rebuilding my site from scratch, but I've been pleased with the results. Most importantly, I have creative control and can modify the site any time I wish (which is often). Thanks, Karelia!
Now that you have Sandvox, what do you like about it?
Since I haven't learned much HTML code, using Sandvox's HTML editor is a real blessing. I can paste in and edit raw HTML without actually having to check for errors line-by-line. If necessary, Sandvox can validate and "tidy" the code for me. Most of the other features Sandvox offers are similarly intuitive and easy to use, even for someone who has never designed a website before.
Most importantly, Sandvox plays very nicely (and natively) with the Mac OS, which is crucial for me. I run my authoring/publishing/bookselling business strictly on the Mac platform.
What would be a good way to search for a program like Sandvox?
Website design software for Mac.
